Lets directly dig into writing a resignation letter for you that will help you to say goodbye to your current employer officially.

Want to leave your job? Then Quit.

You’re all prepped up and ready to say bygones to your old job and hello to your new one, but there’s still one thing left and it’s standing in your way: Your resignation letter.

Even though writing a letter of resignation is not the start to your journey ‘away’ from the company (just in case, you didn’t know, it’s submitting a two weeks’ notice to your boss, and then having a talk down with him regarding the “I quit” conversation), it’s definitely a crucial part. This document sets up the future relationship you’ll have with the company and manages the pace and tone you with the responsible HR for the resignation process.

We’ve created an easy guideline to lead you through the way. Have a read of this template to have a better idea of how to write your very own resignation letter.

The Underlying Pointers in Writing a Letter of Resignation

Say it straight and get it over with. You don’t need to add in euphemism or try to sugarcoat the beginning. Just say it the way it is. Tell them why you’re resigning and from when it’ll be effective. You might have told your boss the reason, and that’s fine, you don’t have to restate your reasons here.

Just remember to ensure the company that you’ll work as a dedicated employee and finish your duties until the end, so that they know that there is no end, until ‘the end’.

In my last two weeks here, as an employee, I’ll make sure to do everything in my power to completely finalize the work I’ve been delegated with, and try to train the other members of the team accordingly.
